1. What can I expect from my first consultation?

Your first visit with Gillian could be quite lengthy. The average first visit is about one to one and a half hours. The reason for this is to gather as much information about your illness /condition, how long and how it affects you. Gillian will also ask you about your lifestyle, interests, temperament, attitude and disposition. For the homeopath to find the most appropriate similimum {remedy that has the best affinity to your symptoms) all this information plays a large part of the consultation. Follow up consultations are usually shorter depending on the circumstances and progress of the patient.

Some products can affect the efficacy of homeopathic remedies and might antidote the remedy(stop it working) its possible that products with a strong smell or taste may do this, so it is recommended that you would use a gentle possibly a herbal or childrens toothpaste if you show signs that the remedy chosen for you may be counteracted by such substances. Sometimes strong odours and perfumes can also affect a remedy. It is recommended tht you stop or reduce using these items until it is possible to see how well a remedy is working.

10. Can I take the homeopathic medicine alongside any regular medicines I may have purchased or have been prescribed for me.

If you are on medication prescribed by your GP/ Specialist, it is important that you continue with these unless the person  who prescribed them is aware and has instructed you on how and when to stop. I always suggest that you would take your homeopathic medicine at a different time of day from any other medications.
