What can I expect from from my first consultation?
Your first visit with Gillian could be quite lengthy. The average first visit is about one to one and a half hours. The reason for this is to gather as much information about your illness /condition, how long and how it affects you.
Gillian will also ask you about your lifestyle, interests, temperament, attitude and disposition.
For the homeopath to find the most appropriate similimum {remedy that has the best affinity to your symptoms) all this information plays a large part of the consultation.
Follow up consultations are usually shorter depending on the circumstances and progress of the patient.

How is it possible to decide on a remedy young children and babies?
When a consultation for a child or infant is involved, Gillian uses a combination of information from parent/guardian and her own observation of the child in the behaviour and reaction during the time of the consultation. For an older or more articulate child she tries to allow the child to give his/her own events of the situation then asks the parent/ guardian for their input.

Until what age is it necessary for a parent or guardian to accompany a child or teenager?
All children under the age of sixteen must be accompanied by parent/guardian or other suitable adult.

Can I claim a rebate from my insurance company?
Many health insurance companies will give rebates for visits to homeopaths. Please check your individual policies for details. Receipts are generally given at point of payment; if you do not receive your receipt please ask for one.

The symptoms of many conditions can be alleviated effectively with Homeopathy, whether they are consequences of trauma, short term illnesses or chronic conditions.
It is not possible to list all the ailments where homeopathy has been found of great benefit, some of the more common ailments encountered and the use of homeopathic medicines found successful are Anxiety, Stress, insomnia, depression, fatigue ,headaches, period & fertility problems, pregnancy related conditions, menopause, children's illnesses , E.N.T & eye conditions, bone & joint conditions and skin conditions.
It may also be very effective where no specific diagnosis has been given.
